Brian Damewood
International Champion Auctioneer
After an early career as a television news reporter, Brian Damewood made a life-changing decision in 2010 to pick up the auction gavel—and he has never looked back. Today, Brian is one of the nation’s most accomplished and recognizable auctioneers, working four weekly auto auctions and conducting premier fundraising events for Damewood Auctioneers across the country, from Florida to Minneapolis.
Brian’s talent and dedication have earned him international acclaim. In 2023, he claimed the title of International Champion Auctioneer, winning the National Auction Association’s worldwide competition. He also placed as Reserve Champion (2nd in the world) at the 2021 World Automobile Auctioneering Championship—solidifying his standing among the very best in the industry.
In 2012, the Virginia Auctioneers Association (VAA) named him Auctioneer of the Year. A past-president of the VAA and an active member of the National Auction Association, Brian remains deeply engaged in advancing the profession he loves.
Brian is a proud 2004 graduate of Loudoun Valley High School and earned his B.A. in Communication with a minor in Real Estate from Virginia Tech in 2008. He completed his formal auction education at the World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa, in 2010.
Today, Brian lives in Purcellville, Virginia, with his wife, Catherine, and their children, Penelope and Henry. They are active members of Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church, and Brian serves on the board for Loudoun Fair & Associates.
A gifted communicator, natural storyteller, and passionate advocate for the organizations he serves, Brian brings unmatched energy and professionalism to every auction stage he steps on to.
